Support Regional Emergency Preparedness

NVERS coordinates emergency preparedness across 25 jurisdictions in Northern and Northwestern Virginia, connecting public safety, hospitals, EMS agencies, and other partners who must be ready to work together when emergencies strike. While federal and state funding provides the foundation for this work, those resources don't cover everything — and they're not guaranteed from year to year. Private contributions help us fill critical gaps, respond to emerging needs, and invest in the long-term resilience of a region that is home to approximately 2.6 million people.

Why Your Support Matters

Emergency preparedness is built in the years and months before a disaster, not in the hours after one. Your contribution helps ensure that when a crisis hits — whether it's a disease outbreak, a cyberattack on critical infrastructure, a mass casualty event, or a severe weather emergency — our region's healthcare and emergency response systems are ready to work together effectively.

Even modest contributions make a difference. The coordination, planning, and training that NVERS supports are high-impact, low-cost investments compared to the human and financial toll of an unprepared response.

How Funds Are Used

We believe donors deserve to know how their contributions are put to work. Donated funds support activities including:

  • Training and exercises that build coordination across healthcare and emergency response partners
  • Equipment, supplies, and communications infrastructure for regional preparedness
  • Planning initiatives that address emerging threats and identified capability gaps
  • Community engagement and public preparedness education
  • Organizational capacity to sustain programming between and beyond federal grant cycles

NVERS is committed to using donated funds efficiently and in direct support of our preparedness mission. Financial information is available upon request.
